I began my practice of yoga in 1994. When I moved to Los Angeles my practice deepened significantly when I met Chuck Miller. With him I practiced at YogaWorks in the Ashtanga tradition from 1998 to 2002. My first teacher training was with Chuck and his partner Maty Ezraty in 2003 and I started teaching shortly thereafter at YogaWorks.
It was at YogaWorks that I met Lisa Walford and began my study of Iyengar yoga and my home practice developed. Lisa remained my guide for over a decade. She remains as my dear mentor and friend. I’ve traveled to Pune, India on two occasions for month-long sabbaticals to study at the feet of Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar and his daughter Geeta Iyengar.
I taught as a “Teacher Trainer” and mentor at YogaWorks for 10 years, and in 2015 became a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. I currently hold a Junior Level 2 certificate in that method.
Many teachers have informed my practice. The most significant influences to my teaching have been Manouso Manos, Carolyn Belko, Faeq Biria and Corine Biria.
“Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul, create the symphony of life.” B.K.S. Iyengar
I am grateful for every teacher I have ever encountered for bestowing the gift of understanding to me, allowing me to enjoy the life I live today. Yoga is a living thing that should be utilized and understood and shared. It is my honor to share this practice with my students.
